Printify Multi-Product Listings on Etsy: Setup and Limits

Printify can now combine several of your products into a single Etsy listing. A t-shirt, hoodie and sweatshirt with the same design can sit in one listing, and the buyer picks the product from a dropdown. It is free, and it replaces the old workaround of copying SKUs from Printify into Etsy variations by hand.
Everything below comes from Printify's Multi-Product Listing help article, checked in November 2026.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What does it cost? | Nothing extra. You also skip $0.20 per duplicate listing. |
| How many products per listing? | Up to 20 |
| Variant limit | 400 combinations (sizes × colors), set by Etsy |
| Different designs in one listing? | Yes. Products can use different print files. |
| Personalization? | Not supported |
| Shipping | One shipping profile for the whole listing |
| Shopify? | This feature is for Etsy |
How to create one
- Select the products. In Printify, go to My Products and tick the products you want to combine. They can be drafts or already published.
- Click Create Multi-Product Listing.
- Edit the listing. Set the title, description, tags and mockups for the combined listing. Prices still come from each original product.
- Publish. The listing then appears under the Multi-Product Listing tab in Printify. Make future edits there.
Printify's own tip: include a cheaper product, like a t-shirt next to a hoodie. Etsy shows the lowest price in search, so the listing looks cheaper and gets more clicks.
The limits that cause errors
Shipping. A Multi-Product Listing is one Etsy listing, so it gets one shipping profile. Etsy uses the shipping methods of the first product. If another product does not offer the same methods (Standard, Economy, Express), publishing fails. Printify recommends building shipping into your prices and offering free shipping.
400 variant combinations. Etsy multiplies every size by every color in the shared color list. That includes colors a product does not come in. A shirt with 6 sizes and a hoodie with 6 sizes sharing 40 colors already reaches 480. To fix it:
- Group products that use the same color names. "White" and "Solid White" count as two colors.
- Remove sizes you do not sell.
- Keep products without colors, like mugs and stickers, in a separate listing.
Same names. Printify does not allow products with the same name in one listing. Give each product a distinct name before you combine them.
Stock. Out-of-stock changes do not sync to Etsy automatically. Republish the listing when a variant goes out of stock.
Editing. Change the title, tags and mockups in the Multi-Product Listing. Change designs and prices on the original products, then republish the combined listing. If you changed a design, reselect the mockups before you republish.
One listing or separate listings?
Printify says combined listings pool reviews, favorites and sales into one listing, and that helps it rank. That is true, but there is a cost: one listing gets one title and 13 tags.
| Use a combined listing when... | Use separate listings when... |
|---|---|
| Buyers search for the design, not the product type | Buyers search "funny cat mug" or "cat hoodie" by type |
| The products share a theme, like a matching family set | Each product needs its own keywords and photos |
| You want to raise order value with a second product | The products have very different shipping costs |
| You have too many near-duplicate listings | You want to test prices separately |
My rule: if I would write the same title for both products, I combine them. If the titles would be different, I keep them separate.
Can I combine different designs?
Yes. Printify says products in a Multi-Product Listing can use different print files. So you can sell one mug listing with several designs, like state designs or name variations, as long as you stay under 20 products and 400 variants. Each design still has to be a separate Printify product first.
That is where a bulk uploader saves time. Create the products from a folder in one batch, then combine them in Printify. The workflow is in how to upload 100 designs to Printify.
FAQ
Can I move an existing Etsy multi-product listing into Printify? Not with Printify's migration tool. Either add Printify SKUs to the variants of your existing Etsy listing and link the products when the first order comes in, or recreate the listing in Printify and delete the old one.
Can a customer buy two products as one item, like matching shirts? No. Multi-Product Listings offer a choice between products. Bundles are a separate Printify feature.
Do I still need to link SKUs by hand? Not for listings you create this way. Printify links the variants when it publishes the listing.
